Now that Prince Andrew, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry already stepped down from their royal duties, it is widely believed that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie should up their roles in the royal family. However, a new poll revealed that the two princesses of York should never take more prominent royal roles.

A Daily Express survey revealed that 29 percent of its participants believed that minor royals like Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie should never pick up the duties left by their father, Prince Andrew. In contrast, 26 percent wanted them to do so. About 30 percent neither agreed nor disagreed, while 14 percent remained undecided.

The poll comes after the speculations over the numbers of working royals following Prince Andrew's resignation and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal exit. The survey also revealed that the majority of the respondent believed that the monarchy is still good for the United Kingdom, but the number of royals should be reduced.

About 61 percent gave their support to the monarchy, while 15 percent didn't. Some 47 percent said that it should be reduced in size, while 15 percent disagreed. However, royal biographer Robert Lacey, who is also the man behind Netflix's The Crown, is convinced that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie should step into the roles left by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle if not Prince Andrew.

In a different poll made by Hello! Magazine, four out of five voters believed that Queen Elizabeth II dealt with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's exit very well. At the same time, half of the participants assumed the Sussexes made a wrong decision as only 27 percent supported the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's move.

Now that the royal family has lesser working royals, Lacey felt like it would be the best time for Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice to step up and do more royal duties. "It's quite clear that one of the consequences is that Beatrice and Eugenie will now be brought forward - if they're willing to be brought forward," he said.

With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's exit, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice should come in. Lacey is convinced that the two needed to step forward and be much welcomed by the monarchy and the public.

Now more than ever, the royal family needs more working royal as they still have to wait for 15 years before Prince George's, Kate Middleton and Prince William's son, generation steps up. However, Lacey added that it was quite ironic that Prince Harry said that his cousins, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, are the "models of how he wants to be."
