Before Meghan Markle tied the knot with Prince Harry in 2018, she was once married to Trevor Engelson for two years. The film director refused to comment about his ex-wife's royal exit, but who really is Engelson? Get to know more about the man who made the Duchess of Sussex fell in love before the Duke of Sussex did.
In Andrew Morton's 2018 book Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, Trevor Engelson initially wanted to be a film director. However, he questioned his own ability. He even belittled himself when he said that he managed to realize that he needed talent to produce films, but "that was out of the window," per Express.
So instead, he worked in a talent agency before he went on to produce films, including Robert Pattinson's coming-of-age drama Remember Me. In 2004, he and Meghan Markle started dating. They supported each other and stayed on one another's side as they tried to climb the top of Hollywood.
At the time, Trevor Engelson was only 25 years old and had his own production company, Underground. Meghan Markle, on the other hand, was a struggling actress, who only had small roles in a few films and television shows.
After seven years of dating, they got married in Jamaica in 2011. However, after 18 months, they parted ways. In 2013, they were granted a no-fault divorce and cited irreconcilable differences.
Fast forward to today, Meghan Markle and Trevor Engelson remarried to Prince Harry and Tracey Kurland, respectively. Evidently, their lives are now a far cry from what they used to be.
Meghan Markle is now the Duchess of Sussex and part of the royal family. Alternatively, Trevor Engelson's new wife is a known dietician and a Californian heiress.
However, Meghan Markle is making headlines today after he and Prince Harry announced their decision to step back from their royal duties. So when Trevor Engelson was seen for the first time after the news broke, the press tried to get his reaction about it.
According to Daily Mail Online, Trevor Engelson tried to stay mum about the issue. He politely refused to comment on the controversial royal exit as he left a hair salon in Beverly Hills.
"You have a good day," he simply said to the reporter who tried to get his opinion about his ex-wife. After his hair cut, he quietly left and rode his lavish Porsche 911. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are now in Canada with their son, baby Archie, and are starting living their independent lives.
