Though Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are both in the world of showbiz, they have managed to keep their private life under wraps. They are rarely seen in public together. This could be the main reason why they were always rumored to have broken up.

Take for instance the NW magazine story last year that alleged the couple has already called their relationship off. The outlet alleged that the actors' romance was hanging on a thread because of Gosling being a "distant father" to his two children with Mendes.

The source claimed that the La La Land actor rarely visits his family and when he does, he looks "miserable" whenever he spends time with them. The insider added Gosling and Mendes have little in common other than their two kids.

"They spend hardly any time together and haven't had a date night in months. She's a homebody who gets all her fulfillment from the kids while he's working most of the time," the source said.

There were also rumors, in September 2019, that the couple is having marital problems due to Mendes' jealousy over Gosling's La La Land co-star Emma Stone and his First Man co-star Claire Foy. That rumor has been debunked as well.

Gossip Cop stressed that nothing in these speculations about Ryan and Eva's relationship is near the reality. The truth the couple is very happy in their relationship.

The site noted that, prior to tabloids' break up rumors, the couple was often seen together in public. They were spotted hiking together with their kids. The Notebook actor and Mendes have also seen house hunting in Pasadena.

In a previous interview with Access Hollywood, the Ghost Rider actress admitted that date nights were difficult to plan for her and Ryan because they still have two young small children in the house. But, she did not say they haven't dated for ages. According to Mendes, they just have to prepare for their date night and, fortunately, they have family who always extends support to them.

Gosling and Mendes first met when they worked together in the movie The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011. Mendes has been out of the spotlight for five years now. The last project she did was the 2014 movie Lost River, which was also the directorial debut of Gosling.

Mendes put her career on the sideline to focus on parenting their children. In an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the 45-year-old actress revealed that she and Gosling have the same parenting style

"We're very controlling... I think what the term is, we would be 'bulldozing parents,'" she said.
