Singer Luna recently shared how much she missed the late SHINEE member Jonghyun in a touching Instagram post where she shared the cover of Jonghyun's album 'Story Op. 1'.
According to Luna, she always sought for inspiration from Jonghyun whenever she was writing her own songs. Before his death, the SHINEE member was well recognized by his peers as an excellent songwriter and an inspired musician, All Kpop reported.
In her post, Luna simply said: This is Jonghyun oppa's album that I always listen to when writing songs."
Her post was immediately flooded by messages of support from her fans, and also SHAWOLs (SHINEE World) who missed Jonghyun's presence and his music.
It can be recalled that in November 2019, SHAWOLs flooded Twitter with messages of concern after the social media platform announced that it was deactivating accounts that have been inactive for at least six months.
This prompted immediate action from global fans who trended the topic #종현이와의_소중한추억 (#OurPreciousMemories_WithJonghyun)and #소중한추억_없애지말아줘 (#PleaseDon'tDelete_OurPreciousMemories) and tagged Twitter.
According to the fans, if Twitter implements its new policy, it would also cause the deletion of Jonghyun's account, which has been inactive since 2017 after his death by suicide. Fans said that they will lose their precious memories from the SHINEE member from his old posts that they revisit whenever they miss him.
"We've heard you on the impact that this would have on the accounts of the deceased. This was a miss on our part. We will not be removing any inactive accounts until we create a new way for people to memorialize accounts," Twitter said in it's an apology a short while after.
Remaining SHINEE members have constantly referred to Jonghyun in their activities, citing that they will always remain five members in their hearts. Jonghyun's close friends also express their longing for him.
In September of last year, Super Junior's Kyuhyun dedicated a powerful performance of Jonghyun's song Y Si Fuera Ella in his performance in King of the Masked Singer. He also opened up about his grief in learning about Jonghyun's death while he was still serving in the military. He said his performance was intended as a message to his junior that he is missed, Soompi reported.
"One day, I wanted to perform his song on a television program and tell him, 'Hyung worked hard to sing your song, Jonghyun. Are you listening?' I believe that he enjoyed [my performance]." Kyuhyun said.
