BTS is currently the biggest boy band on the planet. But before gaining their superstardom status, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook started from the very bottom of the pack.
Not only were they rookies back in 2013, but they were also from a very small company, making it hard for them to put their name in the limelight. Because of this, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook had to work extra hard for them to be noticed.
Now, BANGTANTV has been sharing BTS’ events, appearances, promotions, and performances on YouTube. Bon Voyage shows the boys’ vacation and adventure in different places, and their trips are uploaded on Weverse. Run BTS! reveal the fun and relaxed side of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook as they play games and some trivia, where fans can watch on Weverse and VLIVE.
But before all these, there was BTS’ American Hustle Life, which was filmed back in 2014. The boys were in Los Angeles where they did a lot of things including training and performing. But one of the moments that Jimin and Jungkook appeared to take into heart is when a homeless man gave them some words of wisdom.
In American Hustle Life, BTS walked the street of LA to give food to the less fortunate with their mentors. One of the homeless men that they helped that time told them something important.
“Stay true to yourself. Stay true to your heart,” he said. “Be who you are, you know, don’t be like some other group. Be who you are, right from your soul. Why you’re an artist, what made you attracted to art — then be that. Be true to that, that attracted you, and you’ll be good at whatever you do. Never lose who you are. Know who you are. Be true to your heart.” (Watch the clip here).
ARMYs may enjoy BTS’ songs and dance moves, but what makes them love RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook even more is their humility. Despite the huge success that they have now, the boys have managed to be few of the most down to earth people in the industry.
With their current status, it’s quite easy for BTS to get lost in the glitz and glam of celebrity life. However, the boys have always remained true to themselves, just like what the homeless man said in his advice.
