Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga's chemistry on-screen in undeniably the best as seen on the success of their first team-up project, A Star In Born. So, it is likely that they would team up again in the future. But, the Cleopatra movie may not be that project.

A year after the Star published a story that Lady Gaga was pursuing to take the role of the legendary Egyptian queen Cleopatra, nothing has been confirmed on that claim. At the time, the tabloid also reported that the "Bad Romance" singer was also planning to cast Cooper to play as Cleopatra's love interest, Mark Antony.

OK! also claimed around the same time that Gaga has been feuding with Angelina Jolie as the former plans to snatch the female lead role from the Maleficent actress. Following the success of A Star Is Born, the tabloid source claimed Gaga has received tons of movie projects. However, it is the role of Cleopatra that she wants to play "more than anything."

But, apparently, Jolie won't easily back down without a fight. Brad Pitt's ex-wife has been famously been attached to work on the film for a very long time.

The new Cleopatra biopic was first teased years ago. Jolie has been, reportedly, trying to get the project off the ground for the past years, but she had encountered challenges along the way.

The most recent update about the movie was given by screenwriter David Scarpa in 2017. He told Collider that they want to tell the story of the Egyptian ruler through Cleopatra's point of view. Scarpa said many narratives about the queen and her era were told through the eyes of men and he wants to change that.

Meanwhile, Gossip Cop noted that the rumor about Gaga and Cooper working on a new movie was false when it was first reported last year and it remained false today. The site pointed out that both actors might not have enough time to accept another project anytime soon as their schedules are already packed.

Cooper is, currently, busy filming his upcoming Guillermo del Toro's thriller Nightmare Alley along with Cate Blanchett. Netflix also, recently, picked up an upcoming drama film about famed composer Leonard Bernstein, which Cooper will direct, produce, and star in. The actor would produce the movie along with famed filmmakers Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg among others.

As for Gaga, the "Poker Face" singer is working on her sixth studio album. In addition, her two-year concert residency in Las Vegas will run until May of this year.

The American Horror Story actress is also set to return to the big screen as Patrizia Reggiani, the convicted ex-wife of Guccio Gucci's grandson, Maurizio Gucci. The movie will be directed by Gladiator director Ridley Scott. The film production is expected to kick off after Scott finishes the Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's period drama, The Last Duel.
