BTS just dropped the mic with their teaser reveal for Ego, a track centered around J-Hope. Ego, which now has over 9.5 million views is a high energy song that best identifies with J-Hope's bright personality.

According to a report by All Kpop, J-Hope's track is heavy on visuals and is more upbeat compared to the previous teaser track from Suga entitled Interlude: Shadow. However, while the track may be funky and cheerful, the message was far from being light and flimsy. Ego talked about J-Hope's struggles for the past seven years and expounded on his confidence in making his choices.

In the song, he expressed his lack of regret about anything that has led to the path of success. The song is expected to resonate with audiences who are also struggling to make life's choices or are going through hardship to get to the top.

It can be recalled that J-Hope was among the idols who were passed up by the original labels they auditioned for. Fans are familiar with the story of how he failed to pass auditions at JYP Entertainment when he was just starting. He was finally picked up by Big Hit Entertainment because of his strong dance and rap skills. However, he almost got cut out of the original BTS line up before the group debuted. It was due to the convincing of BTS leader and J-Hope's good friend RM that Bang Si Hyuk allowed him to become the seventh member of the group, Koreaboo reported.

As part of BTS, J-Hope proved that he had what it took to succeed. Last year, J-Hope became only the third Korean solo artist to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his Chicken Noodle Soup collaboration with Becky G.

Chicken Noodle Soup also topped the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart which was the second time J-Hope charted a No. 1 hit following his solo track Daydream in 2018, Gulf News reported.

RM, J-Hope, Jin, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are currently gearing for the release of heir comeback album Map of the Soul: 7 on February 21. The album has already sold 3.42 million copies within a week of opening the pre-selling, according to Big Hit Entertainment.

BTS recently concluded their first-ever performance at the 2020 Grammys as they took the stage with Lil Nas X and Billy Cyrus, who won for the song Old Town Road.
