WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for Doctor Who season 12 episode 6. Read at your own risk.

Doctor Who season 12 episode 6 aired last Sunday night, Feb. 2, on BBC, titled "Praxeus." The episode sees the Doctor and her companions investigating the connection of the mysterious cases. Soon, they found out that an alien is behind all of these. So, they went on a mission to figure out how to solve these problems. Here's what happened in the episode.

In Doctor Who season 12 episode 6, Ryan and Gabriela go to Peru; with Ryan investigating mysterious plague that affects local birds and Gabriela searching for her missing travel blogger partner, Jamila. Yaz and Graham travel to Hong Kong to look for a strange energy signature, but it leads them to a kidnapped astronaut Adam and husband Jake.

Meanwhile, the Doctor meets scientists Suki and Aramu on a beach in Madagascar. The Doctor and her companions try to investigate the connection between these strange occurrences. Eventually, they discover that a pathogen called "Praxeus" is their common denominator. The pathogen infects its hosts, causing them to develop skin mutation before exploding into dust.

Ryan and Gabriela found Jamila in an abandoned Peruvian hospital, but she succumbed to the pathogen. The reason why Praxeus flourished on Earth is because it thrives on plastics. The planet is littered with it; from the trash in the Indian Ocean to the tiny particles on birds' stomachs. Humans were also stuffed with micro-plastics, as they get it through food and water.

The Doctor discovered that an alien crew brought the pathogen to the Earth, and all of them succumbed to the illness. Suki is one of the only survivors, and she's been studying the effects of Praxeus on humanity and trying to develop a cure. Her assistant Aramu was also killed by the Praxeus-infected birds. While the episode doesn't have any cameo, it is still an interesting one.

Jamie Stone directed Doctor Who season 12 episode 6, who also helmed the season premiere "Spyfall." What's great about the episode is that it hops from location to location and the setting looks gorgeous and expensive. The episode featured neon-drenched Hong Kong alleys, picturesque Madagascar beaches, creepy Peruvian hospital, and crashed alien ship.

Ruth and the "Timeless Child" might still be the center of the season, but Doctor Who season 12 episode 6 proved that the Doctor and her companions still have plenty of adventures and need to save the world from terrifying creatures. Meanwhile next episode will arrive on Sunday, Feb. 9, with the title "Can You Hear Me?"
