Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior members of the British royal family, there have been speculations that the couple would soon give their first-ever sit-down interview to share their story. There were rumors that it will happen with Ellen DeGeneres.

The speculations started when a paparazzi asked DeGeneres if the TV host is excited to have an interview with Harry and Meghan. DeGeneres, who was on her phone at the time, responded by "Sure, I'm excited."

It sparked speculations that the TV host would be interviewing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. But the truth of the matter is DeGeneres did not give any confirmation of such an interview, and she was just trying to evade a paparazzi who was following her.

Nonetheless, Woman's Day jumped into it and fueled the rumors with another by claiming Oprah Winfrey is furious that Ellen got the first sit-down interview with the Sussex instead of her. The outlet source claimed Oprah is mad as she is hoping that she would be offered the first tell-all interview of the couple.

Apparently, the media mogul has been working with Harry on a production about his mental health advocacy and has also befriended Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland. Oprah is also allegedly helping the Duchess of Sussex to make peace with her father, Thomas Markle.

However, several reputable publications have reported that Harry and Meghan have no plan to have an interview with anyone at this moment. People magazine reported that the tell-all interview rumor was "categorically untrue." This means they won't have a sit down with either Ellen or Oprah even though they are close friends to both award-winning talk show hosts.

Winfrey is known to be close to Harry and Meghan. She attended the couple's royal wedding in May 2018.

DeGeneres, on the other hand, became friends with Meghan when they had a chance encounter at a dog shelter years ago. The Suits actress revealed that she was contemplating at the time on whether or not to adopt her first pet, Bogart, and it was Ellen, who convinced her to take the dog home.

DeGeneres also had a surprise visit with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during her summer trip to the U.K. According to the TV host, she got a chance to cradled and fed baby Archie.

Oprah and Ellen were also among the first celebrities that showed support on the Sussex's decision to leave their royal life. Winfrey said no one has the right to judge Harry and Meghan as they only did what they think is best for their family. DeGeneres also defended the couple, saying attacking a couple who is doing good for the world is unfair.
