Everybody knows Justin Bieber had struggled with drugs and depression. But, for the very first time, he talked about it on camera and revealed details on what it was like.

In the latest episode of his YouTube documentary series titled Justin Bieber: Seasons, the singer confessed that he tried all sorts of substances on his attempt to cope with the pressure of fame at a young age. The "Yummy" singer revealed he started using marijuana when he was 13, the same age that he rose to fame as a baby-faced singer from Canada.

Then, he moved with other substances as well as alcohol. He had experimented with ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms, and pills.

"People don't know how serious it got. It was legit crazy scary. I was waking up in the morning and the first thing I was doing was popping pills and smoking a blunt and starting my day. It just got scary," Bieber said.

The 25-year-old singer said he decided to stop when he felt he was dying. He admitted that there were times his security and staff would come into his room at night to check on his pulse.

While it could be normal for teens to experiment and use drugs to escape, Justin said he felt the pressure more because of the environment he was in. He is always in front of the camera and he has money and resources to get what he wants.

The "Sorry" singer also talked about his struggles with anxiety. Justin said it was hard for him to get up in the morning so he takes antidepressants.

Bieber credited his doctor, Dr. Daniel Amen, for his recovery so as his wife, Hailey Baldwin. The singer revealed the 23-year-old model refused to date him unless he got sober.

Earlier this year, Bieber also revealed that he has been diagnosed with Lyme disease last year. In his lengthy message to his fans, the "Love Yourself" crooner assured his fans that he is getting the best treatment for the disease and he promised to return in a much better form.

It was revealed, in the documentary, that part of his treatment involves naps in a hyperbaric chamber. He has it on his home and in his studio.

The 10-part docu-series chronicles the making of Bieber's upcoming album, Changes, his first in four years. It will also feature his hiatus after he abruptly canceled his Purpose world tour in 2017.

Changes is set to drop on February 14. Bieber will also embark on a tour in North American in May.
