Super Junior's Choi Siwon topped the list of most well-known idols in Korea, according to a survey conducted by IDN with the general public. Respondents included fans who listed to Kpop music and those who were not as familiar with the genre.

With 15 years of exposure both as a member of Super Junior and as a Kdrama actor who delivered memorable roles on popular shows like She was Pretty, Revolutionary Love and My Fellow Citizens, Choi Siwon, who is also an ambassador for UNICEF, easily topped the poll, All Kpop reported.

Taking the second place was BTS' golden maknae Jungkook, who reigned over Twitterverse in 2019 for the most liked post from a celebrity. Jungkook also won the hearts of fans all around the world for his talents, charisma, and cuteness as the youngest member of BTS.

The third spot belonged to BIGBANG leader G-Dragon, a second-generation Kpop idol familiar to fans all over the globe. G-Dragon might have just completed his 21-month military enlistment but he already made waves in fashion for his unique fashion choices at the Chanel show. His collaboration with Nike for his Paranoise collection also sold out in record time in over 40 countries.

EXO's maknae Oh Sehun also charmed fans with his aegyo and antics which is a contrast to his sophistication and high fashion style. Sehun appears as a regular cast member of Netflix's show Busted in addition to performing in sold-out shows with his EXO hyungs.

NCT's Taeyeong rounded up the Top 5 most well known male idols in Korea because of his participation in SM Entertainments NCT. Taeyeong also rose to global fame when he was tapped as one of the members of the newly formed collaboration group SuperM, jointly managed by SM Entertainment and Capitol Records.

For the female idols, MAMAMOO's Hwasa topped the list of most well-known idols. It came as no surprise because she also topped the brand reputation rankings several times last year for MAMAMOO's comeback and solo exploits.Girls' Generation Yoona took second place in the poll, Soompi reported.

Apart from her music exploits, she also appeared in popular dramas like The King in Love, The K2, and the Prime Minister and I, and 2019 blockbuster hit  EXIT, opposite Jo Jung Suk.Former 2NE1 leader CL took the third spot while BLACKPINK's Lisa and Red Velvet's Irene completed the Top 5.
