Marina Squerciati's portrayal of Burgess in Chicago P.D. season 7 episode 13 was indeed incredible from the beginning until the end. In an interview with CarterMatt, the actress shared her experiences filming the episode and what will happen to her character now that she lost her baby.

The scenes in Chicago P.D. season 7 episode 13 were raw and brutal, and Squerciati said it took a full day to film those scenes. She revealed it took them about 14 hours, and the jacket became very heavy as it held an enormous amount of water.
Squerciati also said that when she first received the script, she assessed how Burgess would be different this time compared to other scripts. The actress knew Burgess would be in so much pain and nothing's left to her emotionally. She's doesn't have space for Ruzek as well; she just had to deal with her pain.

Meanwhile, it's apparent that Burgess is committed to her job, but will she blame her job for losing her unborn baby? Squerciati said Burgess will, perhaps, blame herself more rather than her job. She added that her character needs to figure out how to survive and how to live with her emotions.
