Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were in Miami, Florida recently to speak at a JP Morgan event, among business and economic leaders. The Sussex royals were apparently paid almost a million dollars for their appearance, which was their very first gig outside of their duties as members of the royal family.

However, royal commentators said that Prince Harry and Meghan's attendance at the Alternative Investment Summit became a PR disaster in the eyes of the public. The panelists on Jeremy Vine's show said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should have not accepted the large payout, especially when it came from a company like JP Morgan.

According to panelist Bobby Friction, there wouldn't be a backlash if it was Prince Charles who came to the JP Morgan event. Friction said that the public would not criticize the royal for it because he is working on behalf of the royal family and not for his personal keep.

The Prince of Wales is also a "learned man" who is qualified to speak of his experiences with other learned men and women who have the money to invest. On the other hand, Prince Harry and Meghan showed their lack of experience with this speaking engagement because, as the other panelist Dawn Neesom said, JP Morgan is not the right company for them to tie with.

Prince Harry and Meghan are against fossil fuel emissions but JP Morgan spends hundreds and thousands of dollars to carry out fracking, gas and oil explorations that go against the advocacies of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. According to the panelists, Prince Harry and Meghan made the situation worse by taking the payout since they need to start earning money.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said that they want to be financially independent as they step back from their royal life. Royal experts said that one way for them to make money is by going to various speaking engagements.

Meanwhile, a caller on Vine's show cursed at Meghan on live television. Identifying himself as Steven, the caller said that he's actually in favor of Prince Harry choosing the kind of life he wants, as opposed to his destiny, and earning his own money.

But Steven got a bit carried away when he called the Duchess of Sussex an offensive label. The caller said that while he supported the Duke of Sussex, he doesn't like the duchess based on the choice of his words. Vine was also taken aback by the swear words and apologized to his viewers for the caller's colorful language.
