Criminal Minds series finale will air its two-part episode on CBS next week. Even though this would be the series' final run, it seems like Spencer Reid's life is on the line. One of the questions now is whether or not Matthew Gray Gubler's character will survive in the final season.

In the promo of Criminal Minds series finale, Reid finds himself in a serious health crisis. He's suffering a serious brain injury following an explosive encounter with Everett Lynch. Based on the clip, it looks like he is in bad condition, which leads to his mother checking on him.

Fans have been wondering if Reid will survive this crisis. According to CarterMatt, there is a huge possibility he'll survive since this is Criminal Minds series finale; they may not want to end the show in an unhappy note. The series won't be leaving any loose ends in its final run.

Meanwhile, Reid will experience hallucinations while in the hospital and will be visited by ghosts from his past. Thus, we're going to be seeing some familiar faces from his past. Yet, it remains to be seen who would it be and why they appeared in his hallucinations.

In a related report, Criminal Minds series finale will see the return of Everett Lynch a.k.a. "The Chameleon" played by Michael Mosley. He is one of the most notable antagonists in the show, and he's back in the finale to torment the BAU for one last time.

Aside from Mosley's Lynch, some familiar faces of the members of the BAU will also be appearing in the finale. Stephen Bishop (as Mendoza), Gail O'Grady (Krystall), Kelly Frye (Kristy), and Josh Stewart (Will) are all confirmed to be coming back in the series' final run.

CarterMatt noted there could be other notable names returning in the finale and CBS is just keeping them under wraps. The network may want to keep things a secret and will surprise fans once the finale arrives. But, although there are returning cast, some may not be part of the series' final run.

Shemar Moore will not, reportedly, reprise his role as Derek Morgan. Also, aside from the mentioned returning BAU members, there are no updates on whether or not other former series regulars will stop by in the last episodes.

Criminal Minds series finale will air its two-part episode this coming Wednesday, Feb. 19, on CBS Television Network.
