The Good Doctor season 3 episode 15 is arriving on Monday night on ABC, with the title "Unsaid." There is a big challenge for Dr. Shaun Murphy and other doctors at the St. Bonaventure Hospital in the upcoming episode. The team attempts to treat a child born without a fully-formed trachea and might be a good candidate for an experimental procedure.
In The Good Doctor season 3 episode 15, the patient is a young boy and he is unable to speak because he was born without a fully-formed trachea. Shaun wants to do a procedure wherein doctors will give the patient a new larynx from bone and cartilage. Dr. Lim is also confident about it, but she knows that it's not fully her decision. It's still up to the boy's parents if they want to do it.
The promo of the upcoming episode shows that the parents don't want their child to undergo the surgery. But, it seems like Shaun is determined to do it and told them the consequences in the future if they don't agree to the procedure. He feels like not being able to communicate well will make the young boy's life difficult when he grows up.
Shaun is also speaking from the perspective of someone who grew up feeling different from everyone else. He doesn't want the patient to deal with what he went through. However, it looks like the parents recognize their child can still be healthy growing up without it. Thus, there would be a lot of challenges for the team in the upcoming episode, as well as risk and rewards in the future.
As for what else is coming in The Good Doctor season 3 episode 15, Shaun hopes Carly would understand his friendship with Lea despite everyone else's doubts. The relationship between Shaun and Carly is frequently being challenged; they do care for each other, but they also struggle with intimacy and how to fully communicate.
Shaun and Lea's relationship, on the other hand, is different and they share a deeper emotional intimacy. Shaun thinks his closeness with Lea wouldn't be a problem, but Carly views it from a different perspective. It looks like he is ignoring some signs, which could make things complicated. Shaun and Lea's close friendship may lead to Carly having concerns over it.
