The episode will see The Doctor and companions preparing for the Cyber War, but things wouldn't be that easy for them. There might be some unexpected twists and turns here, and The Doctor may put her companions at risk.
In Doctor Who season 12 episode 9, The Doctor and companions arrive in the far future. They intend to protect the last of the human race from the deadly Cybermen. She already made a decision when it comes to the Cyberium and found herself doing what the Lone Cyberman wanted. This is not an easy mission for them, as facing a relentless enemy means The Doctor puts herself and companion at risk.
The promo of Doctor Who season 12 episode 9 signals the start of Cyber War, and it's apparent that The Doctor is doing everything she can to stop the chaos. She recognized how dangerous the Cybermen are, and what these creatures are capable of. Despite that, The Doctor thinks she did what she felt like she needed to do to protect and save the 19th century.
However, although their intention is for the greater good, this also means danger for The Doctor and companions. CarterMatt noted there were rumors about one of the companions will depart at some point, though nothing is officially confirmed at the moment. Yet, there's a possibility one of them may need to be sacrificed for the greater good.
Also, there is still a big question when it comes to the Lone Cyberman, and Captain Jack already gave a few hints when he made an unexpected appearance this season. But aside from this creature, the Timeless Child remains one of the biggest mysteries this season. After all, there are only two episodes left this season, so the series will uncover these central mysteries.
In another report, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time star Steve Toussaint and Game of Thrones alum Ian McElhinney are both appearing in the two-part finale of Doctor Who season 12. Their arrival may have something to do with Captain Jack's warning to The Doctor earlier this season. Executive producer Matt Strevens said these two stars helped them bring a dramatic conclusion to the season 12 finale.
