Is Kate Middleton genetically blessed with a slim figure? While some say that's one of the reasons why she's still thin after three pregnancies, the Duchess of Cambridge actually works hard to stay fit and healthy.
According to reports, Kate has an unusual yet effective method for maintaining her figure. She follows a strict Dukan Diet developed by weight loss experts from France.
This diet entails eating high-protein but low-carb foods. She began the Dukan Diet when she was preparing to marry Prince William in 2011 and apparently dropped two sizes for her wedding gown.
On top of sticking with the Dukan Diet, Kate does the cooking a lot at home, instead of takeouts or ordering in. As a royal, they have personal chefs at home but British chef Carolyn Robb said Prince William's wife love to be in the kitchen so much that it is where the whole family spends their time like a normal brood.
In the mornings, Kate loves blended smoothies full of vegetables and fruits like spinach, kale and blueberries. She uses matcha, or green tea powder, which is known to help with weight loss and weight maintenance.
The Duchess of Cambridge also enjoys food rich in antioxidants so she loves salads and bowls of fruits on the dining table all the time. She personally picks the snacks for her family and prefers giving them raw food (fruits). She prepares the chutneys for their snacks herself and she's also the one shopping for the produce. It is not actually unusual to see Kate at produce sections in British grocery stores near their home in Kensington.
For meat, Kate's go-to meal is apparently roast chicken. Prince Harry loved having dinners at Kensington Palace so much when he was still single because of Kate's chicken meals.
Kate is also a big fan of curries and likes hers especially spicy hot. However, the Duchess of Cambridge revealed that Prince William cannot handle much spicy food but their daughter Princess Charlotte has inherited her taste for spices.
As for her fitness routine to tone her body, Kate likes planking, which helps tighten the muscles. The duchess has been athletic even as a child and doing strenuous workout is not challenging for her. She can actually hold a plank for less than a minute and can do 10 sets at a time. It's no wonder she has the energy to take on more work.
Kate also tried CrossFit training and does a combination of weights, running and squats. She spends her morning exercising for an hour if she has no early royal engagements. Conveniently, the Duchess of Cambridge has all the fitness equipment she needs at home.
