Kate Middleton is just like any working mother struggling to balance her work and home life. The Duchess of Cambridge admitted that she has "mom guilt" pretty much all the time when she's fulfilling her royal duties instead of tending to her children.

The royal doesn't have a regular nine-to-five job like many mothers. But, in the podcast Happy Mum Happy Baby with host Giovanna Fletcher, Kate said that she feels the guilt of not being there for her children when she's off traveling for her royal engagements and private meetings with the charities and organizations where she is the patron.

Kate said that any mother who doesn't feel mom guilt is lying. Though she can rely on the help of the nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, the duchess said that she's still a very hands-on mother to all of her three kids -- Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

In fact, on the day she sat for the podcast show, the royal mom revealed that her two older children, Prince George, who is six, and Princess Charlotte, who is four, actually "scolded" her for not dropping them off to school in the mornings as often as the other mom. She admitted that she also has moments where she questions her own judgements and decisions, especially when it comes to her children.

The Duchess of Cambridge made it a point to bring Prince George and Princess Charlotte on a school run during their very first day of school last September 2019 with Prince William. Kate, however, missed out on the school run the previous year because she was taking care of her youngest child, Prince Louis, who was just a few months old at that time.

However, Kate also said that she understands that it's not a mother's responsibility to do everything for the family. Hence, it's important for the kids to have other people around them who can be safe, loving and caring, such as their grandparents and nanny.

Meanwhile, Kate and Prince William are taking a short break from their royal duties this week because it's Prince George and Princess Charlotte's school break. Palace aides confirmed that there is nothing scheduled for the Cambridge royals on their calendar from Feb. 17 to Feb. 21 because they will be spending a full week with their children.

During previous school holidays, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went skiing in France with children. They also spent some school break at their country home in Anmer Hall.
