Apple has continuously been rolling updates for its devices. A few days earlier, it seeded the watchOS 6.1.3 beta to developers. Now the watchOS build is available to users, which introduces an important bug fix. Interestingly, Apple also rolls out watchOS 6.2 beta to developers earlier today.

WatchOS 6.1.3

A few days ago, Apple seeded watchOS 6.1.3. The update is available for Apple Watch Series 1 and above as well as on iOS 13. The latest update is small, but it bears a very important update.

According to the watchOS 6.1.3 release notes, it comes with bug fixes and improvements. This includes a fix on the bug that restricted the notification for irregular heart rhythm, particularly for Apple Watch owners located in Iceland. The release notes do not give more details on what other bug fixes or improvements are included in the latest update. Interestingly, the watchOS 6.1.3 does not come with any security update.

WatchOS 6.2

Apple also launched today watchOS 6.2 Beta 2 for developers. The update arrives a couple of weeks after the company rolled out watchOS 6.1.2. The latest update introduces in-app purchases for the App Store support of Apple Watch. Through this, developers can develop and sell apps for Apple Watch in in-app subscriptions and purchase options.

As soon as Apple installed the proper configuration profile in the Apple Developer Center, the watchOS 6.2 beta 2 would be available for download via an Apple Watch app on the iPhone. Users simply have to go to General settings and look for Software Update. Based on the recently discovered code in iOS 13.4, the companion update of watchOS 6.2 mentions that both Apple Watch and iPhone would soon feature CarKey.

This particular feature allows the user to unlock, lock, and use digital keys on their vehicles via iPhone or Apple Watch. Additionally, the latest iOS 13.4 update reveals that CarKeys could be given to the user's contacts through iMessage. It is only applicable to individual contacts and could not be sent through a group message.

Other Apple Updates

In addition to the watchOS 6.1.3 and watchOS 6.2 beta 2, Apple also pushes the iOS 13.4 Beta 2, iPadOS 13.4 beta 2, macOS 10.15.4 beta 2, and tvOS 13.4 Beta 2. The first iOS 13.4 beta introduced a new set of Memoji stickers, iCloud Folder sharing, and some tweaks to the Mail app toolbar. Users are hoping that the upcoming updates would fix bugs as well as introduce exciting features. So far, Apple has not yet revealed when these updates would be available to users.
