Apple's wearables segment has massively contributed to the total revenue of the Cupertino tech company last year. A recent report even notes how Apple Watch beat the collective sales of all Swiss watches all over the world. It appears that the Chinese company Oppo also sees this promising potential of the industry, which explains its intent to launch its first-ever smartwatch, the Oppo Watch.

Oppo Watch Boasts Its Game Changing Features

Since last year, there were reports revealing that the Chinese tech company Oppo is planning to release its first-ever smartwatch in the market. Recently, Oppo Vice President of Global Marketing shared another teaser of the Oppo Watch, seemingly hyping the arrival of the smartwatch. The new teaser is less revealing than the first teaser we saw a few weeks ago.

However, it gives consumers the idea of what the Oppo Watch would look like and even teased some of its features. Based on the photo the Oppo exec shared, it looks like the upcoming smartwatch would feature a square metal case. Interestingly, it reveals how the front glass curves around the smartwatch casing, resembling that of Samsung's Infinity Edge Display.

The company exec even shares on his Twitter account that the Oppo Watch has a 3D glass and a curved screen, which are both game-changers in the smartwatch industry in terms of design. The executive does not say more about the 3D glass, but it could be the manner in which the display cascades all the way to the sides of the smartwatch.

The new teaser also shows a simple smartwatch complete with hands telling the hour, minute, and second. In the past, there were reports that revealed that the Oppo Watch would feature an ECG software similar to that in Apple Watch. The Oppo Watch also looks like the Apple Watch, but it does not come with Apple's rotating Digital Crown.

Other Details

Oppo is a newcomer in the smartwatch industry, and it seems that unlike other companies, it rides with the hype created by leaks and rumors instead of preventing them. The company executives, particularly the VP for Global Marketing, is very active on various social media outfits. The Chinese company definitely needs a distinctive feature(s) that would separate it from established names in the industry.

Oppo could also replicate Xiaomi or OnePlus' pricing strategy and release flagship killer smartwatches to attract the consumers. So far, these are the details officially revealed about the upcoming Oppo Watch. Earlier, it was rumored that the company would officially launch the Oppo Watch at the Mobile World Congress this year. However, the trade event was earlier canceled, so we are still waiting for further announcements on the reveal and the release window of the smartwatch.
