Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have been the faces of many reports these past few months. Several allegations and speculations have been made about their personal lives.

While some of these reports alleged that they are getting back together, it seemingly appears today that confirmations have already been shared. Unfortunately, it looks like the former couple is just good friends, who co-parent their three kids together.

Even so, Ben Affleck's rare interview with The New York Times recently revealed that he has something to say about the nature of his relationship with Jennifer Garner today. It was said that the Batman actor sees his divorce from his former wife as the "biggest regret" of his life.

According to The Independent UK, Ben "opened up" about the end of his marriage to the Alias actress. After describing the split as his biggest regret, he then reportedly shared how "toxic" shame is.

He added that there is "no positive byproduct" in it. It is a "hideous feeling" of "low self-worth and self-loathing."

After sharing the shame he feels toward his past relationship, Cosmopolitan reported that Ben Affleck moved on to sharing about getting over the past, especially the past "mistakes." He said that it is not "healthy" to "obsess" over failures.

He then included the "relapses" and how he beats himself up over those failures. The actor continued stating that he has certainly done a lot of things that he regrets today. However, he contended that it is more important today to "pick yourself up," learn from all the experiences, and "try to move forward."

The publication also went on to report that Ben Affleck has "sought" treatments over the years for his alcohol abuse. His most recent treatment was recalled, which was in 2018.

Jennifer Garner's former husband reportedly posted his thoughts on social media after completing the 40-day program. It was said that, at that time, he was "fighting" for himself and his family.

In the post, he also stated that "battling any addiction" is a difficult and "lifelong struggle." It is apparently a "full-time commitment," he added.

Nevertheless, he went on to stress out that asking for help is "not weakness" or failure. Rather, it is a "sign of courage."

The rare interview was said to also discuss Ben Affleck's upcoming film, The Way Back. It was reported that his role is not that different from himself as, in the movie, he is a drunk turned basketball coach who blows up his marriage and ends up in rehab. It is likely that things will turn around different for the character, hence, the title.
