When Bong Joon Ho won an Oscar as Best Director for the movie Parasite, he shared his award with fellow nominees including Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Sam Mendes, and Todd Phillips, giving particular credit to Martin Scorsese for inspiring him as a young director. Now, it is his turn to receive words of wisdom from The Irishman director. 

According to a report by Indiewire, Bong Joon Ho proudly shared that he received a letter written to him by the famous director, sharing more pieces of advice as he treads a new path as an influential filmmaker in Hollywood. 

"I can't tell you what the letter said because it's something personal. But towards the end, he wrote, 'You've done well. Now rest. But don't rest for too long.' He continued by saying how he and other directors were waiting for my next movie," The Parasite director said excitedly. 

It came as no surprise that Bong Joon Ho was proud to receive the letter since he admitted to being a fan of Marin Scorsese, whose earlier works included Raging Bull, Goodfellas and Taxi Driver.

To prove that he also follows his own advice Scorsese already has several projects lined up for both television and movies. He is in the pre-production phase of Killers of the Flower Moon with constant collaborators Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert de Niro which has a 2021 target release. He is also announced to be producing the film, Roosevelt

Scorsese will also be directing for An Afternoon with SCTV and limited series The Devil in the White City, also starring Leonardo DiCaprio. 

Meanwhile, Bong Joon Ho is expected to work closely with showrunner Adam McKay for the HBO limited series version of Parasite. According to the director, the series will be an expanded film version of the award-winning movie and will feature a lot of his ideas that got scrapped from the two-hour black comedy. 

Bong Joon Ho said he will be working out the final direction of the series with Adam McKay who earned a good reputation for helming the series, Succession.It can be recalled that Tilda Swinton, who previously starred in Bong Joon Ho's English language movies Okja and Snowpiercer, was rumored to be in talks for a lead role in the Parasite limited series, Dazed reported.

Mark Ruffalo was also, reportedly, being eyed for the role that Song Kang Ho played in the original movie. When asked about the possibility, Ruffalo praised Bong Joon Ho for his work and said that he was not closing the doors to the idea. He, however, refused to confirm if he was already approached for the role.
