There is little doubt that the premiere episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 didn't waste time in getting into the action. Not surprisingly, the clip from the second episode is just as exciting as The Bad Batch. This time, it looks like Anakin Skywalker will be out on a mission with Captain Rex and Clone Force 99. But can the Jedi Knight complete his task when he gets separated from his companions?

In The Bad Batch, the animated series immediately introduced a group of interesting characters. In the episode, Captain Rex called in Clone Force 99, a squad of clones who are known for their "desirable" mutations that virtually turned each and every single one of them into a fearless killing machine. The self-described Bad Batch were quick to help Rex and Anakin Skywalker in infiltrating the enemy lines to find out how the Separatist forces are able to predict the Republic's battle strategies. What they discovered was truly shocking, especially for Rex.

Captain Rex later discovers that the algorithm they are looking for is actually being broadcast from a completely different planet and it might be coming from a truly unexpected source. Amazingly, it is coming from someone who sounds human so Rex asks them to identify themselves. The voice simply responds, "CT-1409" which happens to be a clone identification, and it's not just any clone trooper. It is the identification number of Echo, who is believed to have been killed in Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 3.

So what does it all mean? Is Echo still alive and is being used by the Separatist forces against his own will? Captain Rex is determined to find out and save his old friend. Not surprisingly, the first clip from Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 Episode 2 sees Rex, Anakin Skywalker, and the Bad Batch off to find Echo.

In the first clip from A Distant Echo, Anakin Skywalker conveniently asks Captain Rex what they know about the planet Skako Minor, from which Echo's broadcast is coming from. Rex is quick to explain that the planet has a race of locals that can only be described as "primitive." But what exactly does that mean? According to Tech, these people actually "worship flying reptiles."

It doesn't take long before this is proven as a strange winged beast attacks the ship. Anakin Skywalker, Captain Rex, and the Bad Batch immediately get out of their ship to face the attacker and although the Jedi Knight tries to communicate with the local perched on the animal, there are two more reptiles that arrive to check on them. Anakin manages to save Rex from being attacked and is turn dragged away by one of the winged beasts. Not surprisingly, the Bad Batch takes this as a signal to go after the fleeing animal.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 Episode 2 will air on Disney+ on February 28.
