Jennifer Lopez brushed off an unexpected stage interruption in Kazakhstan after a large cricket crawled up her dress mid-performance, earning praise from fans for her composure.
The 56-year-old singer was performing Sunday in Almaty as part of her Up All Night: Live in 2025 world tour when the insect was seen climbing from her dress to her neck. Without breaking from the song, Lopez smiled, flicked the cricket away, and told the cheering crowd, "It was tickling me."
Video of the moment, posted by her official fan account on Instagram, quickly went viral. The caption quipped, "Plot twist: @JLo just started rehearsals for Kiss of the Cricket Woman... on stage... in real time," a nod to her upcoming role in Kiss of the Spider Woman, set for release later this year. Fans flooded the comments with reactions ranging from "Always a professional" to "Handled it so well, I would have collapsed right there."
The incident comes just weeks after another onstage mishap in Warsaw, Poland. On July 25, during a concert at PGE Narodowy stadium, Lopez's silver fringe skirt slipped off mid-song, leaving her in green high-waisted underwear and sheer tights. "I'm here in my underwear," she told the crowd, later adding, "I'm glad I had underwear on. I don't usually wear underwear."
In both cases, Lopez turned potential disruptions into crowd-pleasing moments. In Warsaw, she spun and smiled as a dancer tried unsuccessfully to reattach the skirt before she tossed it into the audience. In Kazakhstan, she continued performing without missing a beat, drawing praise for her poise under pressure.
Lopez's tour began July 8 in Pontevedra, Spain, and will conclude Tuesday in Sardinia, Italy. The multi-hyphenate performer is also preparing for a new 12-show Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, running from Dec. 30, 2025, through March 28, 2026.
Her last Vegas run, All I Have, was staged at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino from 2016 to 2018, spanning 120 performances and featuring a seven-act setlist of more than 20 songs, including "On The Floor," "Waiting for Tonight," and "Jenny From the Block."
