Viewers will be seeing a new face in Grey's Anatomy season 16 once the new episode arrives on Thursday night on ABC. A new intern is arriving at the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital and she might stir things up to some of the characters. Booksmart star Beanie Feldstein will be joining the cast, where she'll going to play the role of Tess Desmond.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Feldstein will be appearing in the latest episode of Grey's Anatomy season 16. Her character, Tess Desmond, is the latest intern at the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. There aren't further details about the character, but she'll be spending some time with Richard Webber. It seems like these two will be working together in the upcoming episode.

In the preview of the episode, Tess introduced herself to Richard, who's practicing Laparoscopic cholecystectomy. She then asked him why he's still practicing when he's already done "a million of those." Richard told Tess that he is only an expert because he keeps on practicing. Their conversation went on, and then Richard stepped aside to let Tess practice with him and prove herself.

Meanwhile, there is no indication whether or not Feldstein will be sticking around for some time in Grey's Anatomy season 16. Her character may only have a brief role in the series, though there's also a chance she'll be seen through the remainder of the season and may stir things up. The show is also in a state of transition with its cast, with Justin Chambers' Alex Karev's exit is still unexpected.

The character left this season without any warning and many were shocked when it was announced he's not coming back in the series. The character was in a big storyline, so his departure is, indeed, unexpected. Although he was replaced by the newest addition Dr. Adler, there are still questions about Alex's exit that should be answered.

Executive producer Krista Vernoff told Variety that viewers need to wait for a little while. The reason why Chambers left will be revealed, but it may not happen anytime soon. Vernoff explained that his exit was a "very careful threading of a needle." Then, she revealed it would take a few more episodes to find out what really happened to Alex and they'll also address the real-life exit of Chamber.

Grey's Anatomy Season 16 drops its new episode every Thursday night on ABC.
