Grey's Anatomy season 16 will premiere on ABC later next month, and there are a lot of things that needed to be addressed in the new installment. The previous season left many unanswered questions, particularly to Meredith Grey and Andrew DeLuca. The latter needs to find a way on how to get DeLuca out of jail and proving to everyone she's the person behind the insurance-fraud scandal.

In Grey's Anatomy season 16, the scandal does not necessarily mean Meredith will put herself behind bars since she's confident with her resources and money. She could find a way on how to get out of the issue and to free herself from the scandal. While this could be difficult on her part, she still thinks she could do it.

There wouldn't be a quick solution here for sure, especially since it's something that will linger and viewers need to be prepared for that. Following the season 15 finale, showrunner Krista Vernoff revealed that writers have planned to commit to the fact that Meredith has been fired and will turn herself for her well-intentioned crime, as DeLuca had taken the fall.

Meredith broke many rules and laws before, but this is the first time something big will happen to her because of it. But the good news for MerLuca fans, lead star Ellen Pompeo recently shared a photo on her Instagram story featuring a shot of DeLuca on her bed.

The actress wrote: "This is my first scene of season 16 eating ice cream in bed with Giacomo Gianniotti and I get paid???" She then added a hashtag "#Shondalandproblems."

Meanwhile, other things that are not-so-good-news in Grey's Anatomy season 16 include Jo going to the psych ward to get herself some help that she needed, while Jack Avery appears to be missing in the woods.

Viewers also need to be prepared in the aftermath to Teddy having a baby. This is a bittersweet moment for Amelia because even though she's happy for Owen, she's also struggling with what happened to their relationship. She could move forward with Link, but their relationship is still on early stage.

Grey's Anatomy season 16 will surely offer what viewers wanted to see this season, including great emotional storylines, as well as reflecting on the current state of medicine. Also, season 17 has been given a thumbs up, with Pompeo and the rest of the original cast signed up.

Grey's Anatomy season 16 is arriving on Thursday, September 26, on ABC.
