BTS was the latest guest stars in James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” and many were smitten by J-Hope. Since non-Kpop fans have no idea what their names are, they complimented the 26-year-old rapper, songwriter, dancer, and record producer by referring to him as the “guy in the middle.”

J-Hope was sitting in the middle of the front row with Jimin and Jungkook. Jin, Suga, and V were sitting in the second row or back seat, while RM was sitting on the passenger’s seat.

The BTS rapper quickly earned the new title as locals fall for him in James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke.” Many took to social media to not only share how much they like him but also to ask ARMYs for his name.

“I’m in love with the one in the middle. Give me his name please,” one wrote. “This guy in the middle looks so happy, like a little ball of happiness. I smiled all the time looking at him. Who is he?” one asked.

Since J-Hope is not the only member sitting in the middle as Suga is also sitting between Jin and V at the back seat, locals tried to be specific to describe who they meant.

“I don’t know BTS much, but the boy in the middle with curly hair and big smile… I think I’m in love with you,” one shared. “The guy in the middle with the cute smile and hair, how does he like his eggs in the morning?” another one commented. “The one in the middle saying Madonna saved my life and I do not even know his name. He’s so cute and energetic,” one wrote. “The guy in the middle with ripped jeans looks so energetic,” another one said.

J-Hope is called “sunshine” by fans because of his bubbly personality and positive vibe. The BTS star explained before that he chose the stage name J-Hope (J is the first letter of his last name Jung, and H is the first letter of his first name Hoseok) because he wanted to spread hope to everyone. His incredible charm and joyful outlook on life always make ARMYs smile, and it seems like it worked with non-Kpop fans as well.

This is certainly not the first time that J-Hope has earned a nickname for his visual and personality. Just recently, the BTS rapper was referred to as “the guy in the red jacket” by locals during their performance at the 2020 Grammys.
