Little Monsters are rejoicing as their Mother Monster, Lady Gaga, has confirmed her new single, "Stupid Love," is about to drop on February 28. The singer made an announcement on social media along with a snap of a billboard in Hollywood of what could be the cover photo for the song.
Gaga did not reveal many details about the single other than it will drop Friday at midnight ET. However, it can be recalled that many of Gaga's fans had a taste of the "Stupid Love" last month when it was leaked online.
The leaked track went viral on Twitter before it got deleted. The "Bad Romance" singer seemingly addressed the issue at the time, tweeting "Can y'all stop."
Lady Gaga first revealed almost a year ago that she has been working on his sixth album when she was rumored to be pregnant. She denied the pregnancy rumor and instead teased about her sixth studio album. In her post on Instagram Story back in September 2019, she also shared a picture of her in the studio with the caption "#LG6."
"Stupid Love" is the first song that she will release after the A Star Is Born soundtrack, which gave her a Grammy award. Gaga's most recent studio album was Joanne, which was released in October 2016.
According to Rolling Stone, Bloodpop and Tchami produced "Stupid Love." Bloodpop, whose real name is Michael Tucker, worked with Gaga on her album, Joanne. He is also known for his work with Madonna and Justin Bieber. He co-wrote and produced Bieber's "Sorry," off his Purpose album.
Meanwhile, fans have been speculating that Gaga's next album is coming very soon and it could be titled, "Chromatica," as the word appeared on the billboard artwork. The word appeared twice in the billboard: on the far right side of the promo artwork graphic and was written in a glossy pink font while the other can be seen on the left side under the copyright information.
This prompted Gaga's fans to trend worldwide not only #StupidLove but also #Chromatica. The singer's camp has yet to make an announcement about the album.
Chromatica is defined as relating to color or color phenomena or sensations. It makes sense for the singer. In a previous interview, Gaga said her makeup company Haus Laboratories is a very colorful place and so is her music. She also teased that there will be lots of colors in the coming months and it will be revealed in unexpected ways.
