There is little doubt that the new music video for BTS' single 'ON' has led to more fan theories. After all, it's almost tradition for ARMY to pore over every aspect of the video in hopes of finding clues about the group's future. But has the lead single for Map of the Soul: 7 also revealed something that most people have feared for a long time? Did the new MV confirm that Jungkook will pursue a solo career?

It's no secret that Jungkook is a truly talented performer. In addition to being a gifted singer who could reach effortlessly hit high notes, Jeon Jungkook is a skilled dancer as well as an excellent rapper. Moreover, he has written some of the songs that have been performed by BTS. But is Jungkook ready to go solo?

The official MV for 'ON' initially featured most of the members in separate locations. For instance, Jimin is shown singing beside a pile of drums with a young drummer boy while RM is surrounded by animals around what appears to be a stranded ship. Meanwhile, Jungkook is featured fleeing from an unknown pursuer with his hands bound by thorns. At one point, the Golden Maknae collapses and seemingly loses consciousness.

There are interesting parallels in Jungkook's scenes in the 'ON' MV. When he submerges his bound hands into a pond, he pulls out a conch with his hands, finally free of their binds. He then blows on the conch, which is a cool reference to William Golding's Lord of the Flies. In the book (as well as the film), the conch is the first thing that the stranded boys find on the island and is blown into to summon the other boys. It eventually becomes a symbol of authority and order, and whoever wields the conch gets to speak his mind.

At one point where Jungkook is reunited with RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, and V, he is shown holding the same conch. Not surprisingly, some believe that this means that Jeon Jungkook is now an authoritative part of BTS. On the other hand, another symbol in the 'ON' video also teased on a different story for Jungkook.

Some believe that the bird that Jin releases in the music video is Jungkook since he is the only one who isn't with the group in this scene. In addition to that, the bird flies away from the group and heads for the new open land beyond the gates. However, the bird is later shown with six other companions flying over the land.

For now, it is unclear what the symbols in the 'ON' MV truly mean. In the meantime, fans can rest assured that Jungkook is still very much a part of BTS and will join them on their upcoming world tour in support of Map of the Soul: 7.
