Princess Beatrice will have a new title once she gets married to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in May. The daughter of Prince Andrew will be addressed as the Contessa or Nobile Donna if she's ever in her soon-to-be husband's home country.

According to the Daily Mail, Princess Beatrice's father-in-law, Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, has spoken for the first time about Edo's upcoming nuptials to the British royal. He said that Princess Beatrice is free to use the title the moment she got engaged to Edo in September 2019.

Edo's family pedigree apparently goes back to the 10th century. On top of the Italian title, Princess Beatrice and Edo are also set to inherit one of northern Italy's oldest grand villa since Edo is the first son and only male descendant of the count.

Villa Mapelli Mozzi is a nine-bedroom castle (palazzo) that sits to the center of four acres of land. Located an hour away from Milan, the palazzo is often used as a summer home by the family.

However, Daily Mail also reported that Edo's father has not yet met the British princess and his future daughter-in-law in person. Apparently, his son has been busy traveling for his work as a property broker, which means that he doesn't stay in Italy as much as he could.

Edo's parents have separated a long time ago and his mother later remarried Christopher Shale in the U.K. In his years growing up, Edo spent his summer with his dad but Alessandro said that he briefly had time with his son just before the engagement announcement. That was the last they saw each other. The count, however, said that he is looking forward to his son's wedding and meeting his wife in London.

Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice and Edo's wedding will be a small-scale affair by royal standards. Their ceremony will be held at The Chapel at St. James's Royal, which can only accommodate about 150 people.

The royal wedding reception will take place at Queen Elizabeth's official home in Buckingham Palace. Guests, however, will be resigned to the palace's gardens only and won't be allowed inside the actual premises of the Queen's home.

In a historical move, Princess Beatrice and Edo asked the latter's 3-year-old boy to be the best man at the royal wedding. Wolfie is Edo's son from a previous relationship and has become a very important person in the York princess' life as much as his father.
