A lot of things already to Kim Burgess in Chicago P.D. season 7. She has been through a lot this season; she found out that she's pregnant but lost her baby because of a dangerous mission. Now, her relationship with Adam Ruzek will be tested due to what happened and they might be facing some problems in the future.
Burgess' miscarriage is one of the shocking twists presented in Chicago P.D. season 7. She lost her baby while doing a mission, and this might be hard for her to accept. Although she and Ruzek weren't planning for a romantic future for their relationship, both of them were looking forward to co-parenting. They had a plan, but that plan is now gone because of what happened.
What Burgess and Ruzek need to do now is to figure out how to lean on each other, but at the same time, they also need to keep doing their job. This is not an easy task for them, and this situation could lead to them having conflicts in the future. Even though there aren't involved romantically, their situation could affect their relationship.
Executive producer Rick Eid revealed to TV Insider what's the future or Burgess and Ruzek's relationship in Chicago P.D. season 7. He said the two will continue dealing with each other and will try to help each other as well. Both of them do love each other and care about one another, but then, they're just struggling now because they don't know how to deal with Burgess' miscarriage.
Eid explained that Burgess and Ruzek were both excited about their future, but they lost the baby and that changed everything for them. Now, the two are trying to get back on balance, and they're also trying to figure out what the future holds for them now -- both individually and together. For now, fans need to wait for a little while to see how their relationship will evolve after that incident.
They need to heal their wounds first to forget everything that happened. Ruzek and Burgess may probably share the pain so that it would at least ease the burden they're going through. But regardless of what happened, it's apparent that they have feelings for each other. It's also exciting to see what's coming to them in the future.
