Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going to be at the Commonwealth Day service on March 9 in Westminster Abbey. Buckingham Palace announced and confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be joining Prince William, Kate Middleton, Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royal family.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Meghan will arrive later this week to join her husband for their final royal engagements. In 2019, Prince Harry and Meghan also attended Commonwealth Day while the duchess was in the last trimester of her pregnancy.
Monday's celebration will also include Olympic medalist Anthony Joshua, who will speak at the service. Also expected to perform are Craig David and Alexandra Burke. The event will honor Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the Commonwealth secretary-general Baroness Patricia Scotland as well.
The Commonwealth Day service will be aired live on BBC, per Daily Mail. The royal family, led by Queen Elizabeth, will be walking alongside Commonwealth flag bearers at the end of the service.
The Commonwealth is a network of 54 countries that work and collaborate towards a similar goal for the economy, the environment and the social setting. Every year, the service highlights the diversity of its people, which covers over 2.4 billion individuals.
Queen Elizabeth has been the Head of the Commonwealth since 1952. She is the unifying and symbolic presence to the countries that form part of the Commonwealth.
Meanwhile, prior to Commonwealth Day, Prince Harry has been in the U.K. since the end of February to attend to his solo engagements. The Duke of Sussex was in Edinburgh to join a travel summit and met with Jon Bon Jovi who recorded the theme song to the duke's Invictus Games.
The Duke of Sussex will be attending the Endeavour Fund Awards with his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, on March 5. Meghan will also have solo and private engagements.
Prince William and Kate, on the other hand, are flying to Ireland for a royal visit from March 3 to 5. It's unclear, however, if the royal brothers have spent time together since Prince Harry returned to London.
Prince Harry and Prince William have not seen each other since their meeting at Queen Elizabeth's Sandringham estate in January to discuss the Sussex pair's departure from their royal roles. Sources, however, said that Prince Charles' son have been talking on the phone more since Prince Harry left for Canada.
