RM has a genius-level IQ, and so are ARMYs when it comes to theories. BTS fans know that the RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook usually leave easter eggs on their music videos, which led a lot of them to be K-pop detectives.

With that said, every time BTS release a music video, teaser, and more, ARMYs automatically dissect them. Sometimes they got it right, sometimes they don’t. That’s the thing with theories, it can always go either way, but ARMYs keep forming new ones every day anyway.

As it turned out, BTS is very much aware of these fan theories. In fact, V mentioned it during their behind the scenes of their “On” Official MV. On March 2, BANGTANTV uploaded a “Shooting Sketch” episode on YouTube, where V even dared ARMYs to make a theory about his artificial tattoo.

“This is a temporary tattoo of sharp thorns digging into my neck,” he said. “When I see ARMY having theories about our MV, a lot of them are beyond our imagination. I look forward to many theories this time too,” he said while pointing at his neck. “What this means.”

When BTS dropped its “ON” Kinetic Manifesto Film: Come Prima on February 21, many were shocked to see V sporting a couple of tattoos. Since two other members of the maknae line, Jimin and Jungkook, are already confirmed to have some permanent ink done, V getting one too is not far from happening.

While many are convinced that V’s face tattoo is fake, a lot of ARMYs were not that sure about the authenticity of his neck tattoo. On February 25 around 9 AM KST, V talked about his “ink.”

When V posted two photos of him with the face and neck tattoo on Weverse, a fan asked what was their meaning in “ON” Kinetic Manifesto Film: Come Prima. V, who is known for being one of the most active BTS members on Weverse, saw the question and replied to it.

“I personally just wanted to try this for this concept so I contacted the producer and received confirmation to do it,” V shared. “Also, our visual director hyung did an awesome job on it too hahaha.”

Although V didn’t say if they were real or not at the time, BTS “On” live performances proved that they were indeed temporary. Because even though V has been sporting the same tattoos during their “On” live performances, his face and neck are ink-free during their “Black Swan” live performances.
