Queen Elizabeth and Prince Harry had a hearty talk over lunch last Sunday, March 1, in Windsor. Her Majesty apparently assured her grandson that he and his wife, Meghan Markle, are always welcome back if they decide to be working royals again.

The Sun reported in an exclusive that Prince Harry and Queen Elizabeth spent a four-hour lunch together. A source told the news outlet that the heart-to-heart talk apparently cleared the air between grandmother and the grandson.

The source also said that Queen Elizabeth assured Prince Harry that he's "much loved." It was Prince Harry who requested the meeting with his grandmother since their last discussion in Sandringham in January.

The news comes as reports revealed Queen Elizabeth is sad and disappointed about Prince Harry and Meghan's decision to step back from their royal roles. Sources, however, said that Her Majesty accepts the Sussex pair's choice, especially with their plan to live in North America.

Reports also stated that Queen Elizabeth allegedly scolded the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over the security cost of their stay in Canada. However, the confrontation was belied by some royal reporters who stated that the Queen only wanted to make it clear to the Sussex couple that they will have to shoulder their security detail at some point soon.

Prince Harry and Meghan will officially be out as senior members of the royal family by April 1. They will also pursue other endeavors to become financially independent from the royal coffers.

However, much of the debate about their security cost as private individuals have been causing some strain between the governments of the U.K. and the Commonwealth country of Canada. Since they are no longer working royals, the Canadian Government announced that it will not provide security for the Sussex royals.

However, the couple reiterated on their website that they will still require security detail hence, it will be British taxpayers who will pay for their protection. Sources said that Prince Harry and Meghan's frequent travels to the U.S. while leaving Archie in Vancouver, is more expensive than their prior arrangement as working royals.

Prince Harry and Meghan plan to start a new non-profit after their departure from the royal family. They will be tapping on global connections outside of the U.K. and Meghan's network in the United States.

By the middle of spring, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to lay out their new chapter on their official website.
