Korean figure skater You Young is known to be an avid BTS ARMY. In a recent interview, she opened up about why she admires the pop sensation so much and who she wants to date with if given a chance, even if she receives some hate from fans.
The 15-year old pro skater has been in the headlines lately after she took home the gold medal at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Switzerland. This made her the first non-Russian woman to win the ladies' figure skating competition. She also took the silver in the ladies' singles at the Four Continents Figure Skating Championships last month, making her the first South Korean medalist at the annual event in 11 years.
Prior to these achievements, You also won her fourth national title in the South Korean figure skating championships. She is currently the youngest ever national champion of South Korea. She took the title from Yuna Kim when she was 11. Yuna set the record at age 12 in 2003.
In her recent interview, You Young talked about her latest achievements and also her love for K-pop. The young athlete revealed that she likes the songs of G-Dragon and Sunmi, and she is also a big fan of BTS.
Young said she loves the songs and dance of the "ON" hitmakers and also love Jungkook and V. However, the teen skater said she doesn't have a favorite song of BTS since she loves all of the songs of the "Black Swan" singers. You added that she is in awe of how BTS overcame their struggles and walked their way up to become world-renowned singers.
When asked if she would consider going on a date with V if she will be asked by a TV network as part of their special show. Young said it would be a once in a lifetime experience. The teen said she would definitely accept it even though she might get hate comments from fans.
"I'll accept it. I can't help it if BTS's fans wouldn't like it. That would be once in my lifetime," she said.
Many BTS ARMYpraised You for being honest about her opinion. However, some also felt sad that You thinks she will get hate when she hangs out with Taehyung.
Many said they don't mind the BTS members dating since it's their personal business after all. Others, however, think V would agree to meet her but not to go on a date since the figure skater is still young.
