Riverdale season 4 episode 16 is set to air next week on The CW, with the title "The Locked Room." This will be an interesting episode as the truth about the apparent death of Jughead will be revealed. The previous episode confirmed he's still alive and they just faked his death to uncover some mysteries. In next week's episode, Jughead and Betty will reveal the truth.
The promo of Riverdale season 4 episode 16 starts with Jughead walking back Stonewall Prep with Betty. His fellow students, Bret and Joan, were shocked when Jughead greeted them. Their reactions obviously say they weren't expecting he's still alive. The promo shifts into another scene, wherein Jughead and Donna having some intense conversation.
Donna told Jughead that she knew he wasn't really dead. Then, the scene shows Jughead telling the truth to some members of Stonewall Prep, as well as Mr. Francis Dupont. All of them seemed to be shocked and confused about what's happening. Jughead is ready to enlighten them, saying: "Don't worry, I'm going to take you through it step by step."
He began telling others that it's like a "time-tested genre of a locked room mystery." With a teasing and evil smile, Betty added there's a twist. The promo then comes to an end, and it didn't reveal much detail as to what viewers can expect in Riverdale season 4 episode 16. It also seems like The CW doesn't want to give anything away, as the plot summary or synopsis weren't revealed.
Meanwhile, after weeks of speculations, it was finally revealed that Jughead isn't really dead. He and his friends planned hoax death amid an investigation in Stonewall Prep. It turns out that Donna was behind the plan instead of Brett. Jughead was almost killed by Donna and they tried to pin the blame on Archie and friends, the good thing is that Jughead survived.
Jughead has been hiding under the bunker the whole time. They come up with this plan to convince everyone, particularly his fellow Stonewall classmates, that he's really dead. In fact, Betty did some stunt to further convince the Stonewall Prep gang. She made out with Archie to convey her grief and proved to them she's having a hard time coping with everything after her boyfriend's death.
Riverdale season 4 episode 16 arrives on Wednesday night, Mar. 11, on The CW.
