It has been previously confirmed that Skeet Ulrich won't be reprising his role as F.P. Jones by the end of Riverdale season 4. Shortly after that news, it was also announced that the current installment would be the final one of Marisol Nichols' Hermione Lodge. Many were shocked by this, especially since both characters were an important part of the series during its early run.

Ulrich became a series regular since the second season of The CW teen drama series, where he plays Jughead's (Cole Sprouse) father. But previously, TVLine reported that Riverdale season 4 would be the final installment for his character, F.P., and won't be coming back in the next season. The actor said in a statement that he's grateful for the friendship he made and will miss seeing everyone on a daily basis.

Aside from Ulrich's F.P., Riverdale season 4 will also be the last one for Nichols' Hermione. She plays Veronica's (Camila Mendes) mother since the series debuted back in 2017. Her departure might also be apparent to some, as she's been mostly out in the current season. She said in a statement that she had an incredible time bringing her character to life, as well as working with other cast members.

Meanwhile, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa discussed Ulrich and Nichols' exit in Riverdale season 4. In a statement via TVLine, he said that saying goodbye has been part of life in the series. He also thanked the two for their incredible work for the past four years. While it's hard to say goodbye, he did wish them well on their future endeavors.

Aguirre-Sacasa also said that their characters, F.P. and Hermione, will never be far from their heart. He then ended the statement by saying they are always welcome back in Riverdale. Right now, there are no words as to how these two characters will be written out of the series. But since most of the teens are growing up, some of them might be in a different place in the future.

After their graduation, the younger characters might be going somewhere else, so there is no guarantee that their parents will have major roles. Yet, their exits may impact other characters' lives as well, particularly Jughead and Veronica. Perhaps, there might be some changes in their lives to make their parents' exits fit in their storylines.

Riverdale season 4 airs every Wednesday on The CW. The current installment won't also be the last, as the series has been renewed for a fifth season back in January.
