Queen Elizabeth II just recently marked the 68th year of her reign as the Queen of the United Kingdom. She automatically ascended to the throne upon her father, King George VI's death on February 6, 1952.

It was said that the Monarch had bad blood with her uncle, King Edward VIII because she reportedly believed that she, and her father, would not be reigning monarchs if he did not abdicate in 1936. As it happened, he chose to marry Wallis Simpson, an American divorcee, instead of staying in service for the Crown.

According to Cheat Sheet, marrying a non-royal, not to mention, a divorcee, was not accepted in the British Monarchy. This was the reason why Queen Elizabeth II's uncle, King Edward VIII abdicated after almost a year of reign and passed on the crown to Prince Albert, who later became King George VI.

However, several royal fans and supporters reportedly think that things will not be "that different" if King Edward VIII did not abdicate in 1936. It was claimed that many are certain that Queen Elizabeth II will still become the Queen of the United Kingdom, especially if all things remain in its place.

As explained by the publication, the Queen was born in 1926. She was the third person in line to the throne as his grandfather, King George V was still in position. Accordingly, if his uncle did not choose to abdicate and remained childless throughout his reign, she will still end up the Queen of the United Kingdom after him.

It is worth noting that Queen Elizabeth II's father died in 1952 and King Edward VIII in 1972. So, despite being the second in line to the throne, she will automatically be the Queen when her uncle dies, surpassing her father.

While many royal fans and supporters believe that this is the most viable thing to happen had not King Edward VIII abdicated, several individuals reportedly thought differently. Based on assertions, it is possible but, there are a lot of factors that still need to be considered.

In an online forum, these individuals shared their thoughts about the matter. The general reception is that this will only be possible if things will remain the same. These include the same death years of King Edward VIII and King George VI, King Edward VIII's childless years, and King George VI's all-female kids throughout his life.

If one of these things changes despite Queen Elizabeth II's uncle's supposed decision to stay in position, she will not end up the Queen of the United Kingdom at all.
