After a decade following her split to Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex's ex-girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, is now in a relationship. The Zimbabwean businesswoman didn't reveal much about her new beau but talked about her famous former boyfriend instead, and what went wrong to their romance.
In an interview, the 34-year-old jewelry designer admitted that there is someone new in her life. "Yes, there is someone and I am quite taken by this one," she said, via New Idea. "But it's very new, and I don't want to say too much."
Chelsy Davy had a seven-year relationship with Prince Harry. They started dating in 2003 and had an on-again-off-again relationship that lasted until 2009. Since then, they both began dating new people.
In a previous interview with The Times, the lawyer described the public interest in her relationship with now-Meghan Markle's husband as "crazy, scary, and uncomfortable." She found it very hard when it was terrible. She had a hard time coping as she was trying to be a normal kid, admitting it was horrible.
However, Chelsy Davy chose not to say anything at all about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in a different interview with Tatler. As she is happy with where she is now and everything that is going through her life, she will rather not discuss the issues about her former boyfriend and his now-wife.
Anyhow, the former couple is believed to have remained friends until today. There are even reports that Prince Harry called Chely Davy before her marriage to Meghan Markle to say goodbye to their romance officially.
According to Express, Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy reconciled when he celebrated his 25th birthday in September 2010. A source said that the former lovers promised their commitment to one another and both said that they wanted to be together.
However, the stress of being under the public's eye reportedly put their romance in a strain. But despite tht, Chelsy Davy attended Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding in 2011 that gave birth to the rumors that she and Prince Harry were once again reunited.
But, when she saw what Kate Middleton did to be part of the royal family, she reportedly realized that she could not do what the Duchess of Cambridge sacrificed to be a member of the monarchy. Prince Harry, alternatively, claimed he was 100 percent single at the time, shutting down all the rumors.
From there, Prince Harry dated the English model and actress Cressida Bonas. The sixth in line to the throne managed to have a good friendship with his exes, as both Cressida and Chelsy Davy were invited to his wedding with Meghan Markle in 2018.
