The Flash season 7 is not yet here, but the series has been giving some details about what viewers can expect in the next installment. The good news now is that The CW promoted two recurring characters as series regulars in the new season and many were delighted about it.

In a report via Deadline, Kayla Compton's Allegra Garcia will have a bigger role in the upcoming The Flash season 7. She is a recurring character in the current season and has now been promoted as a series regular for the next season.

Allegra is an up-and-coming journalist, who initially fell with a bad crowd and was incarcerated at a young age. But following her release, she refused to let her past define her future. She's now helping Barry and becomes the new member of the Team Flash. Thanks to her metahuman powers, she could alter the electromagnetic spectrum.

Compton's Allegra has been a huge part of the series from most of the season, and an active part of Team Citizen as well. She's also one of the few characters who could bridge the gap between the journalism world and the superhero world of the series.

Allegra has appeared in eight episodes in season 6, while The Flash season 7 is Compton's first series regular role. The actress also appeared in other television series including HBO's Entourage, ABC's Mistresses, as well as TNT's Perception.

Another recurring character promoted as series regular in The Flash season 7 is Brandon McKnight. The actor plays the role of Chester P. Runk, a recurring character in the current installment but will be a series regular in the next season.

Runk is a tech genius who's working on his grandmother's cluttered garage. What's unique about him is that he could build and design almost any gadgets without expensive resources and backing for the S.T.A.R. Labs. He does his works by himself, forsaking the high tech labs.

Aside from being a tech genius, Runk is also a down-to-earth guy and a great dance. Moreover, he's obsessed with sci-fi movies, aliens, as well as other pop culture interests. He appeared in three episodes in season 6, but viewers will see more of him in The Flash season 7 since he's a series regular.

McKnight is a Jamaican-Canadian who appeared Oscar-winning film The Shape of Water directed by Guillermo del Toro. His most recent appearance was Charles Officer-directed Akilla's Escape and will be seen next opposite Liam Hemsworth in Quibi's Dodge & Miles.
