Vikings season 6 is currently on hiatus and the series may not be coming back anytime soon. Right now, the series hasn't revealed much detail about the next part, so fans need to wait for a little while. But, a lot of things happened in the midseason finale, leaving the fate of some characters in questions. There were also speculations about Ubbe likely taking over Bjorn's place and will be the new king of Kattegat.

Ubbe, a Viking warrior and Bjorn Ironside's brother, was last seen when he went to Iceland to search for some people who could help him find new land. Now, fans have been speculating he's coming back to his homeland and will become the new king when Vikings season 6 returns. Bjorn was crowned as the King of Kattegat after losing his mother, Lagertha.

But in the midseason finale, the Rus attacked and Bjorn was severely injured, with some believing he's dead. Ivar, who joined the Rus, was the one who stabbed him. The episode left a huge cliffhanger, with Bjorn's life now on the line. Some fans believe that if ever he dies, Ubbe might be the one taking over his role and become the King of Kattegat.

Ubbe wasn't seent in Vikings season 6 midseason finale as he was in Iceland with wife, Torvi. Before setting off to find new land, Ubbe also told Bjorn he's trying to find their missing friend, Floki. But perhaps, he probably heard the news about what happened to Bjorn and he'll return to his homeland. He'll likely want to be the lead and will take over everything.

Yet, it remains to be seen whether or not Ubbe will indeed returning to his homeland and will be the new king. And although Bjorn is seemingly dead in the midseason finale, some think that he's alive as the episode didn't show him taking his last breath. There is a huge possibility the character is coming back once the series returns.

Meanwhile, History hasn't officially revealed the return date of Vikings season 6, which also serves as the series' final run. Right now, the show is taking its long break and may probably come back in the winter. Reportedly, the second half may be arriving by the end of the year on History and Amazon Prime. Other reports also suggest it may come back in November 2020.
