WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for Vikings season 6 midseason finale. Read at your own risk.

Vikings season 6 aired its midseason finale on History earlier this month. A lot of things happened in the episode, leaving some of the characters' fate in question. Right now, however, fans need to wait for a while for Vikings season 6 episode 11 since it may not be coming back on the small screen anytime soon. Here's what we know so far about the possible release date, as well as some stories waiting for the characters.

At the moment, History hasn't revealed the official release date of Vikings season 6 episode 11. The series is currently on its long break now and will be returning in winter for its final run. Some reports suggest it will arrive later this year, possibly in November 2020. The network will likely follow the release date schedule of the previous installments; usually being released in the last week of November.

Although viewers will not be seeing the series for several months, there are still a lot of things to anticipate once Vikings season 6 episode 11 arrives. The midseason finale delivered a powerful story, leaving huge cliffhangers and questioning some of the characters' fate. It has been teased that some of them already met their ultimate demise, but there might be some twists and turns here.

In the midseason finale, the episode saw Bjorn Ironside, King Harald, King Olaf, Gunnhild, and Erik the Red came head-to-head with King Oleg and Ivar. One of the shocking moments here was when Ivar killed Bjorn; he strikes his sword in Bjorn's chest. That was an unexpected twist, and fans are now questioning Bjorn's fate in the series.

In the promo of Vikings season 6 episode 11, the clip shows the army coming together -- possibly in the wake of Bjorn's death. But although his death seems apparent, viewers didn't see him taking his last breath. His journey might not be over yet, and his fate will be revealed once the series returns. In addition, series creator Michael Hirst teased the character is still alive.

Speaking with Gamespot, Hirst revealed they knew which characters would survive, and they felt Bjorn would die. He shared that their main goal is to make sure the death of the character wouldn't get lost in the carnage of season 6. Then, he teased that Bjorn is "not yet dead" and added that the upcoming Vikings season 6 episode 11 would just "knock your socks off."
