It has been almost 16 years since Friends aired its series finale. After it has been confirmed that a cast reunion is in the works, several rumors have popped up including one that alleged Jennifer Aniston is trying to convince Brad Pitt to appear in the special episode.

According to Woman's Day, Aniston wants her ex-husband to make a cameo on the Friends reunion. Jen is allegedly confident that she could get the actor to say "yes" to the project.

Pitt appeared in one of the episodes of the NBC sitcom's eighth season in 2001 when he is still married to Aniston. The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor played the role of Will Colbert, Rachel Green's (Aniston) former high school classmate. Pitt even got a nomination from Emmys for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his appearance in the episode.

"They had such a great time when he guested the day, so it will be a cute walk down memory lane for them both - and for their loyal fans. Jen is eager to give them an experience they'll never forget," the source of Woman's Day claimed.

Gossip Cop debunked the rumor. First of all, the upcoming Friends reunion is an unscripted special which means the cast members will not actually reprise their respective roles. The episode will feature an interview with Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer and they are expected to talk about their experiences during the 10-year run of the show.

Gossip Cop also reached out to its source close to the situation, who confirmed that Aniston is not trying to convince Brad to appear on the Friends reunion. In December, New Idea also made a similar claim that Pitt will appear in the HBO Max special. The outlet also debunked the said claim.

There were also earlier reports that it took a while before Jen finally agreed to sign up for the reunion. Rumors have it that Jen and Brad's reunion during her birthday last year made The Morning Star actress decide that it is a great idea to honor the show's success.

All six cast members of the 90's sitcom have signed up for the reunion special. Reports have it that all of them would be getting $2.5 million apiece for the special, which will be available at the launch of HBO Max in May 2020. All of the 236 episodes of the series will also be available on the platform.
