Social media users, even celebrities, can't stop talking about the Friends reunion since it was confirmed last week. Then, it was revealed that cast member Courteney Cox was, actually, the first one who broke the news about the highly-anticipated reunion before it was officially announced.

HBO Max confirmed last week that all six main cast members of the classic TV sitcom are set to return for their small-screen reunion. Apparently, the special episode, as well as all of Friends episodes, will be available at the launch of HBO Max in May 2020.

But, it was revealed that prior to the announcement and Jennifer Aniston's post on Instagram, Cox went on hiking with Kevin Nealon for an episode of his show, Hiking with Kevin. The episode for the web series has yet to be released but it was filmed before the Friends reunion announcement.

During Nealon and Cox's time in the trail, the actress opened up about how the supposed "reunion" will take place. Nealon also asked the Scream actress about her ideal Friends reunion.

In her response, Cox confirmed the get together of the cast members for a TV special. She revealed how excited she is as it has been years since they all gather together in one set.

"So the exciting thing is that we're all going to get together for the first time, in a room, and actually talk about the show, and it's going to be on HBO Max, and I'm so excited. We're going to have the best time. It's going to be great," Cox said.

Cox said in the episode, they will talk about the show that shot all of them to stardom. The cast would reminisce about all the experiences they shared on the show. According to E! News, the Friends reunion will be taping on the original stage at Warner Bros Studios.

Cox's episode of Hiking With Kevin will be available on the YouTube channel of Nealon on Thursday morning. In the episode, she also talked about the audition process.

Aside from Cox (Monica Geller) and Aniston (Rachel Green), the special HBO Max episode will also feature Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani), David Schwimmer (Ross Geller), and Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing). It has been reported that the six would be getting $2.5 million apiece for the special.

It will be produced by Friends creators and EPs Marta Kauffman, David Crane, and Kevin Bright. Ben Winston, on the other hand, will helm the special.
