Aker Okoye, the 16-year-old boy who hugged Meghan Markle, has written a letter of apology for Prince Harry. The teenager felt compelled to say he is sorry to the Duke of Sussex after he broke a protocol by cuddling his wife, the Duchess of Sussex.

Meghan was at Okoye's school for the International Women's Day observance when she asked a "brave man" to get up on stage and talk about the women in their life. The 16-year-old jumped at the chance and in his excitement, he embraced the Duchess of Sussex in front of the audience.

Okoye even appeared to attempt to kiss the duchess on the cheeks but stopped short of leaning on the royal as roars of laughter could be heard from the audience. The fascinated young man instead simply said on the mic that Meghan is really beautiful in person.

The schoolboy also gushed that the moment has been the best day of his young life. He's hoping, however, that Prince Harry will not mind what he did.

In the letter, Okoye simply stated that he was overwhelmed and shocked to see the Duchess of Sussex visiting their school. The teenager said that Meghan is a truly inspirational person.

He also wrote that he nearly met Prince Harry when he came to East London in 2019. However, he was in school at that time and could not attend the Future Youth Zone event, where the royal was the special guest. Okoye will be mailing the letter to Buckingham Palace.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan did their final royal duty by attending the Commonwealth Day service with the rest of the royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are officially stepping back as senior working royals as of March 31.

They will be flying back to North America, where they aim to be financially independent of the Sovereign Grant. Prince Harry will soon launch projects in support of military service personnel, youth, and sports, HIV and conservation. He will also stay on with Travalyst and his charity Sentebale, as well as the yearly sports event Invictus.

Meghan, on the other hand, will pursue projects relating to women's empowerment, education, and gender equality. There have been rumors, however, that she might be back in Hollywood to work on some projects behind the scene. The Duchess of Sussex was a former American TV star before she married Prince Harry.

Despite the step back, Prince Harry remains the sixth in line to the British throne while his son, Archie Harrison, is the seventh in line.
