Prince Harry was able to bond with his father Prince Charles upon his return to the U.K. for his final royal engagements. An insider has revealed that the second son of the Prince of Wales has spent hours with his father amid his various duties in the last two weeks.

The Sun reported that Prince Harry and Prince Charles met to discuss the Duke of Sussex's future plans. The source said that the relationship between father and son did not change despite the recent developments in the royal family. Prince Harry has always been close to Prince Charles and their relationship today is still "rock solid."

Although, like Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles would have wanted Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, to keep their status as working royals. The Prince of Wales, however, remains supportive of what his son has chosen for his family.

The source intimated that Prince Harry respects his father's opinion greatly. He also listens to the advice given to him as he and Meghan chart their own path away from the royal family.

Earlier, royal observers claimed that Prince Harry was risking isolating himself and his son, Archie Harrison, with his chosen path. Angela Mollard warned that Prince Harry may be emotionally vulnerable as he doesn't have his extended family in Canada.

Prince Harry and Meghan decided that they will spend much of their time in North America to get away from the prying British tabloid media. The couple also wants to pursue a more peaceful life and be financially independent from the royal family.

Mollard said that as Prince Harry lives miles away, he won't have chances to bond with his father, brother and the rest of his kin. In the same way, his son also loses the chance to bond with his cousins and grandparents by living abroad.

Meanwhile, despite reports of a rift between the Sussexes and the royal family, sources apparently learned that Prince Harry and Meghan have been looking forward to their U.K. return. Meghan is especially excited to become part of the engagements and ceremonies as it means so much to her husband.

The source said that Meghan will also miss a lot of things about Britain. However, their choice to live away from the scrutiny matters more.

Prince Harry and Meghan will stay in North America for half the year. They are, however, expected to join the royal family on some occasions and could be at Princess Beatrice's upcoming wedding in May.
