Prince Harry didn't plan on having quarrels with the royal family. A source said that the Duke of Sussex actually regrets hurting his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and is missing his London life as he is now based in Canada.

The source spoke with Us Weekly to reveal that Prince Harry feels terrible about the royal drama since he adores Queen Elizabeth. He also misses his life in London, where he could get together with his friends, play polo or rugby, or have a decent pint.

However, the source also said that, despite seemingly becoming isolated in Canada, Prince Harry is firm with his decision to scale back from his royal duties and leave his old life behind. The Duke of Sussex is making this choice not for himself but for his wife, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, and their son, Archie Harrison.

The British tabloid press speculated that Queen Elizabeth is disappointed and hurting over Prince Harry and Meghan's choice. Royal historian Robert Lacey, however, believes that Her Majesty might actually be sympathetic to the Sussexes.

Lacey said in an interview with People that Queen Elizabeth may be particularly sensitive to Prince Harry because he's going through similar issues with Princess Margaret, the Queen's younger sister. When she was still alive, Princess Margaret displayed the younger sibling syndrome and often felt unappreciated, which has been a perennial problem in a monarchical system.

Royal biographer Ingrid Seward also believes that the Queen is more pragmatic than emotional over her decisions with Prince Harry. It also bids will for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as recent reports stated Her Majesty told her grandson in a heart-to-heart talk that they can return to the royal family any time since they are always welcome.

Prince Harry and Meghan announced in January that they want to minimize their public engagements as working royals as they pursue private projects abroad without relying on taxpayers' money. Queen Elizabeth agreed to their choice but her condition was that they will no longer be representing the Queen at royal engagements and they have to pay back some of their expenses as working royals.

The Queen also asked the Duke and Duchess of Sussex not to use their title, Sussex Royal, for commercial ventures. Prince Harry and Meghan released the trademarked they applied for the name, which was supposed to be their brand as they start a new life as private individuals.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will officially step back on March 31. Come April, they will be simply addressed as Harry and Meghan.
