God Friended Me season 2 episode 17 is coming later this week on CBS, with the title "Harlem Cinema City." This episode will be different from the previous ones, as it will see Miles focusing more on a place rather than a person. He will be working alongside his friends to save this area, but things wouldn't be easy for them.
In God Friended Me season 2 episode 17, Miles receives three new names from the Good Account. These people were employees of an old movie theater where Miles and Ali used to go to when they were still young. Now, his mission is to help the owner of the theater, Mr. Johnson. They would try to raise money to save the place before it closes down.
However, this is not an easy mission for them and they need to consider a lot of things, especially in terms of financial matters. For instance, the old cinema theater is located at Harlem and the real estate price there isn't really low. Miles and others should put in a lot of effort to make sure the job gets done. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether this story is tied to Corey Smith or might be linked to something else.
Corey possibly has deep ties to the God Account, though he may not be directly involved. He is a mysterious guy who joined the military after high school and after being discharged, there wasn't a lot of information about him. Corey is played by Scandal star Cornelius Smith Jr., and he will, reportedly, have a prominent role in the remaining episodes of the season.
The previous episode also introduced Daryl Watkins, someone whom Miles considered as his idol. However, Daryl ended up criticizing Miles' podcast, hurting the latter's feelings. Later on, Miles received Daryl's name as the recent suggestion from the God Account. So, he puts aside his wounded pride and decided to help him.
Meanwhile, God Friended Me season 2 episode 17 would be the last one before the series goes on a one-week hiatus. Perhaps, the writers will then tease viewers what to expect in the finale, given that there were only five episodes left this season. There might be a few twists and turns, and some questions about the God Account might be answered as well.
