Alex Rodriguez is allegedly upset and shocked when he learned that his fiancée Jennifer Lopez is still in communication with her ex, Ben Affleck. A tabloid claimed ARod got blindsided by this and he is not happy about it.
National Enquirer published an article that claimed Rodriguez was taken aback when Affleck revealed that he keeps in touch with Lopez. The MLB superstar allegedly wasn't aware that the JLo is still communicating with Affleck 16 years after they split in 2004.
The tabloid made an assumption based on Affleck's recent interview with the New York Times. Brooks Barnes, who wrote the profile for the publication, tweeted some quotes that didn't make it into the published piece.
According to Barnes, the actor mentioned that he and Lopez "keep in touch periodically." The Batman actor also said he is upset that JLo did not receive an Oscars nomination for her performance in Hustlers. Affleck believed the actress deserved recognition for her work.
National Enquirer threw a twist on the said interview and claimed Rodriguez is upset when he found out about JLo and Affleck's communication. Gossip Cop, however, debunked the story.
It cited a source close to the situation who assured that ARod wasn't blindsided by Affleck's revelation. Rodriguez and Lopez don't seem to have a strain in their relationship either.
This week, the soon-to-be-married couple celebrated the first anniversary of their engagement. The New York Yankees star shared on Instagram the video of his proposal to Lopez on a beach during their romantic vacation in the Bahamas.
"Jennifer, every moment with you is a blessing. You are my best friend, my inspiration, an amazing mother, and a role model to all... Thank you for making my life better. I can't wait to make more memories with you," he wrote in the caption.
Rodriquez also doesn't seem to have a problem with any of JLo's exes. In fact, he even wants them to be at their wedding.
It can be recalled that in a previous interview with ARod at the Strahan, Sara and Keke show, he was asked if exes will get an invite to their wedding or it will be an ex-free zone. The sports commentator said he has no qualms about inviting their respective exes in their nuptial.
Moreover, the "On The Floor" singer has a good relationship with ex-husband Marc Anthony, and so as ARod. JLo and Anthony are co-parenting their twins, Emme and Max.
