Jennifer Lopez will soon walk down the aisle to say "I do" with fiance Alex Rodriguez. But before their much-awaited engagement in March 2019, there was a rumor that Lopez dumped ARod to rekindle her romance with ex-boyfriend Ben Affleck.

Gossip Cop dug into the rumor that emerged prior to JLo and ARod's engagement and pointed out how it was proven to be false at the time. Back in early 2019, NW reported that Lopez broke up with the New York Yankee star to get back with Affleck.

An insider of the outlet claimed Lopez's relationship with Rodriguez has hanging on a thread as the singer/actress was planning to dump him for Affleck. The source alleged that after Lopez cut ties with ARod, she intends to follow it up with another high profile romance with Ben as she "loves the limelight and the status boost."

The outlet claimed the attraction between JLo and the Batman actor never fade despite their split in 2004. The insider alleged the Hustlers actress reached out to Affleck for a "business chat" and the things blossomed from there.

The source claimed the two had been hanging out in private houses and more discreet five-star restaurants for their lunch and dinner dates. It added that Ben and JLo are also planning to find a project where they can work together.

The rumor got debunked quickly when Rodriguez popped the question in March and the Second Act actress agreed to be his wife. As of this writing, Lopez and Rodriguez are still engaged to be married.

The wedding preparations for the much-awaited wedding are already underway. Though the couple remains mum about the details of their nuptials, it has been confirmed that the special day will be happening this year.

It can be recalled that the Major League Baseball superstar previously sparked speculations that some familiar faces such as Ben Affleck could be spotted at his wedding to JLo. The speculations stemmed from Rodriquez's interview with GMA's Strahan, Sara and Keke Show wherein he was asked if he would like to see his and JLo's former lovers at their wedding.

Rodriguez gave a hypothetical answer, saying he wants an "all-inclusive" wedding. However, he doesn't confirm if their exes are indeed invited to witness the wedding.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck began dating in 2002 while filming their movie Gigli. They later starred in the film Jersey Girl and on JLo's "Jenny From the Block" music video.

Affleck then proposed to Lopez with a 6.1-carat pink diamond ring, which reportedly costs $1.2 million. However, the couple called off their engagement in early 2004.
